Mookie was tragically lost in a house fire that not only destroyed all my original vinyl records (Rare ones, classic ones, first edition ones - Kinks, Beatles), but also my musical equipment that I relied upon for my (unpredictable) living. What did I miss the most? Mookie. I told my son, Aidan, about that tragedy when he was about 5 years old, and for Christmas that year, he wrapped up his own teddy bear and gave it to me, with a lovely note that said (misspelled in all its glory): I want you to have my teddy, Mom, because you miss your Mookie.
